Privacy Policy

Effective 11/08/2026  ·  Last updated 11/08/2026

Motospot is a mobile application operated by Motospot Auto-Tech Services Private Limited (“Motospot”, “we”, “us”). We connect people who own two-wheelers with mechanics who can repair them.

This policy explains what personal data the app collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Motospot Android application and the services behind it.

Summary

  • We collect your name, email, phone number, vehicle details, service address, location, booking history, and any photos you upload.
  • We use this to create your account, dispatch a mechanic to the right place, and keep a record of your bookings.
  • We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Payment for repairs happens to Motospot outside the app. Motospot does not process or store payment card details.
  • You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.

What we collect

Data Why
Name and email address
Received from Google when you sign in.
To create and identify your account. We receive these from Google Sign-In; we never see your Google password.
Phone number So the assigned mechanic can contact you about your booking, and so we can send service updates.
Vehicle details
Make, model, registration and similar.
So the mechanic arrives with the right parts and knowledge for your bike.
Saved addresses So you can re-use a pickup or service location without retyping it.
Precise location
Collected only while the app is open.
To attach an accurate pickup point to a booking. We do not track your location in the background or when the app is closed.
Photos you upload To let you show the mechanic the fault before they arrive. Only photos you deliberately attach to a booking are uploaded.
Booking history To show you past services, support any dispute, and meet our record-keeping obligations.
Basic technical data
App version, device model, OS version, crash logs.
To diagnose faults and keep the app working across devices.

We do not collect your advertising ID, and we do not use tracking or advertising SDKs.

Location, specifically

Motospot requests location permission only while you are using the app. We use it to place an accurate pickup or service point on your booking. We do not request or use background location, and the app does not track your movements between bookings.

You can decline the permission and enter your address manually instead. You can revoke it at any time in your device settings under Apps → Motospot → Permissions.

How we use your data

  • To create your account and sign you in.
  • To take a booking and send it to an available mechanic.
  • To share the details a mechanic needs to complete the job — typically your name, phone number, service address, and vehicle details.
  • To notify you about the status of a booking.
  • To respond to support requests and resolve disputes.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse of the service.
  • To improve the app, using aggregated and crash data.

We do not use your personal data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Mechanics and service partners. When you make a booking, the assigned mechanic receives the details needed to carry out the job. They are not permitted to use your details for any other purpose.
  • Service providers. Companies that host our servers, send notifications, or provide error monitoring on our behalf, under contract and only for those purposes.
  • Legal obligations. Where we are required to disclose data by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.
  • Business transfer. If Motospot is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the acquiring entity, which will remain bound by this policy or give you notice of any change.

Payments

Motospot acts as an intermediary that connects you with a mechanic. Payment for the service is made to Motospot outside the app, in cash or by UPI. No payment is processed inside the app, and we do not collect or store card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank account details.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on servers operated by us and by our hosting provider, located in US California. Where data is transferred outside your country, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an equivalent standard of protection.

How long we keep it

  • Account data — for as long as your account is active.
  • Booking records — retained after a booking completes for dispute resolution and statutory record-keeping, typically 3 years.
  • Photos — deleted 90 days after the related booking is closed.
  • Crash and diagnostic logs — typically 90 days.

When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep certain transaction records for a longer statutory period.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, request deletion of your account and data, withdraw a permission or consent you previously gave, and complain to a data protection authority.

If you are in India, these rights are provided under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are in the EEA or UK, you have equivalent rights under the GDPR.

Deleting your account

You can request deletion from within the app, or by emailing us at motospot.in.dev@gmail.com. We will confirm your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Alternatively, you can also fill out the Google form at https://forms.gle/h7za1wjVJP6cWzSo9

Security

We protect your data in transit using TLS encryption, restrict access to authorised personnel only, and store authentication tokens in your device’s secure storage. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.

Children

Motospot is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will revise the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
